Similar to the ship of hope "Madelaine" that was supposed to carry a beacon of life and rescue for the distressed trapped under the fires of war and its aftermath of hunger and displacement, but Israeli authorities dashed all those hopes and efforts.
The "Caravan of Steadfastness" in solidarity with Gaza crosses the Tunisian-Libyan border today, Tuesday, including hundreds of activists seeking to reach the besieged sector in an attempt to break the Israeli blockade.
A spokesperson for the "Caravan of Steadfastness," Nabil Al-Shanoufi, described their journey between the capital Tunis and the Ras Jedir border crossing with Libya, saying, "We were warmly welcomed by thousands in the cities of Gabes, Medenine, Ben Guerdane, and in Sfax (southeast) where they organized a lunch for us."
The media coordinator of the caravan, Yassin Al-Qaidi, told Anadolu Agency that the Maghreb caravan, including citizens from Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, and Libya, will reach Cairo the day after tomorrow, Thursday, and will be at the Gaza border in Rafah, Egypt, next Monday.
