Moscow is the world's leader in the diversity of public transport fare payment methods

Maxim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport, stated that the Russian capital leads the cities of the world in terms of the diversity of public transport fare payment methods.
Moscow offers 13 different payment methods, combining traditional methods with the latest advanced technologies.
Statistics indicate that more than 95% of passengers have abandoned traditional ticket windows, while 98% no longer purchase paper tickets, in addition to 91.2% using contactless payment methods such as bank cards and smartphones.
The modern ticketing system in Moscow is among the most advanced globally, as it has contributed to reducing the costs of printing paper tickets and invoices, eliminating congestion at metro ticket windows, and facilitating a quick and smooth boarding process for millions of passengers daily.
