In a dramatic scene reminiscent of action movies, an Egyptian young man narrowly escaped certain death after falling from the summit of a towering mountain in Suez Governorate, landing on a dangerous slope over 100 meters high, resulting in severe spinal injuries and paralysis.
The young man, named Luay Jalal El-Din Abdelhay, is 19 years old, a student at the German University in Cairo, residing in Zahraa El Maadi.
He was at the top of the mountain near the Jallalah Teleferic, trying to capture enchanting panoramic views of the Suez Gulf, but a moment of imbalance led to a drastic turn of events. His foot slipped, causing him to fall on a rugged mountain slope, finding himself stuck in a place not easily accessible.
Upon receiving the report, Egyptian ambulance teams swiftly moved, but reaching the young man was nearly impossible without special techniques. After assessing the situation, the rescue team decided to form a human chain tied with ropes along the mountain slope, in a complex operation that took over 3 hours, amidst challenging terrains and risky conditions.
With exceptional skill, the team finally succeeded in rescuing the young man and safely transporting him to El Suez Medical Complex.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the student was diagnosed with a spinal fracture, scattered head wounds, and bruises all over his body, undergoing treatment under intensive medical supervision.
The incident took place in the Jallalah Mountain range, a towering mountain range stretching along the eastern coast of Egypt by the Red Sea, reaching a height of 1200 meters.
Some historical accounts suggest that it may have been the route taken by Prophet Moses during his journey to leave Egypt.
In the end, the young man miraculously emerged from this harrowing experience, having lived moments between life and death, but thanks to the heroic efforts of the rescue teams, he was granted a new lease on life after an unforgettable experience that will never be erased from his memory!
