The Juvenile Court in the city of 6th of October in Giza, Egypt, has ruled to place Ali, the son of the artist Mohamed Ramadan, in a specialized social care home for children, after being accused of assaulting another child inside a sports club in Sheikh Zayed City.
The court's decision came after the victim child's defense confirmed that Ramadan's son had attacked his peer, named Omar, who is 11 years old, during a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical fight inside the club.
The incident, which occurred last September, started when Omar was playing inside the club at the same time Ali, Ramadan's son, was present.
Following a verbal altercation between the two children, the situation quickly escalated into a physical fight, where Ali delivered a strong punch to Omar's face, resulting in bruises and wounds.
Subsequently, Omar's mother filed a report to the Giza Security Directorate, stating that Ramadan's son had suddenly and violently attacked her son.
The artist Mohamed Ramadan and his son Ali were absent from the first trial session, with Ali's defense confirming that he suffered a severe health issue on Wednesday evening after learning about the session, as he had a severe gastrointestinal upset causing him intense pain, rendering him unable to attend.
Therefore, Ali's defense requested to postpone the session until his health improved, but the court rejected the request and ruled to place him in a social care home at the end of the session.
Initially, the artist Mohamed Ramadan ignored the incident despite receiving a notification from the police department, prompting the victim child's mother to pursue the case until it was referred to court.
This decision came after investigations continued until the court issued its final ruling to place Ramadan's son in a specialized social care home for children, without specifying a duration for the placement.
