The Artists Syndicate issued a clarifying statement regarding what has recently been attributed to the Syrian artist Mahr Jabr through pages on Facebook and Instagram, confirming that the artist does not own any official account on these platforms.

Jabr clarified in the statement that what is being published on these pages is "pure slander aimed at inciting discord and tarnishing her image".

She emphasized that she will resort to the judiciary and the Cybercrime Unit to hold accountable those responsible for these accounts according to the law and with the harshest penalties.

The artist called on her audience to report fake accounts to protect the truth, confirming that her priority today as Syrians is "the safety of Syria, its unity, and the reconciliation and peace for its children", away from any attempts to involve artists in political issues unrelated to their artistic message.

Jabr clarified that any official statement from her will be through a live appearance with sound and image in accredited interviews, warning against being drawn into what is published by "yellow pages and electronic flies".
