Launch of National Workshops to Enhance Preparedness for Disasters and Develop Early Warning in Syria

The workshop focused on developing early warning mechanisms and rapid response, which mitigate the impacts of disasters and improve the level of coordination among the relevant institutions.
During the discussions, participants emphasized the importance of establishing a unified national early warning center under the supervision of the Ministry of Emergencies, while maintaining the current monitoring units and activating data exchange and analysis mechanisms accurately and in a timely manner.
They also stressed the need to enhance coordination at both local and international levels, and to unify the official discourse among government entities to ensure credibility in dealing with supporting organizations. Representatives from the ministries presented their available databases and their vision for developing information sharing mechanisms with the Ministry of Emergencies.
