In a step that confirms the growing role of Syrian youth in supporting the health sector and contributing to community development, Mr. Karam Mustafa, the representative of the National President of the International Youth Chamber in Damascus, led the Chamber's delegation in an extensive meeting with the Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Hussein Al-Khatib, to discuss ways of cooperation and coordination between the ministry and civil society, aiming to enhance the level of health services and promote community awareness. The meeting, held at the Ministry of Health building, provided an important opportunity to present the programs and initiatives led by the Chamber in the health field. Mr. Karam Mustafa, known for his dynamism and ability to build bridges between official entities and the youth sector, highlighted the Chamber's projects focusing on medical awareness and prevention culture. One of these initiatives is the "Red Recovery" project, which focuses on raising community awareness about genetic blood diseases and the importance of pre-marital medical tests to reduce these chronic conditions. Mustafa also discussed the Chamber's plan to launch comprehensive awareness campaigns about breast cancer, with a focus on psychological support for patients and survivors, in addition to activating the community's role in supporting the pharmaceutical sector and defining its priorities. During the meeting, Mr. Karam Mustafa emphasized the International Youth Chamber's readiness to provide all forms of logistical and volunteer support to implement these initiatives in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, stressing the importance of youth being genuine partners in health decision-making and civil society institutions playing an active role in promoting preventive health concepts. On his part, Dr. Hussein Al-Khatib praised the advanced vision presented by Mustafa and his team, commending the seriousness of the proposed initiatives that align with the ministry's plan to rebuild damaged health facilities, overcome shortages in medical devices and supplies, as well as address urgent health issues such as cancer patients and kidney dialysis. Al-Khatib emphasized the importance of activating genuine partnerships with youth organizations that have the ability to reach various segments of society and provide effective and purposeful awareness content. Several Chamber representatives participated in the meeting, including the Chamber's Board Chair Alaa Souqia, Secretary Anwar Al-Logi, Public Relations Director Hisham Al-Logi, along with several department directors at the Ministry of Health. Their participation reflected a comprehensive image of the Chamber's commitment to building a strong institutional cooperation that uplifts the health reality and turns youth into a real force for change. The meeting clearly demonstrated how active young figures like Karam Mustafa can contribute to turning ideas into practical projects that have a direct impact on society, and enhance the effectiveness of governmental work through innovative and fruitful partnerships between the official and civil sectors.
