Joint Turkish-Syrian Security Operation Results in the Dismantling of a ISIS Cell in Atmeh, North Idlib

The Turkish Ministry of Interior announced on Sunday evening that the Turkish intelligence agency carried out a precise security operation against a cell belonging to the "ISIS" organization in the Atmeh area, north of Idlib province, in direct cooperation with the Syrian Ministry of Interior.
According to the statement, the cell consists of 14 members and was involved in the murder of a Turkish citizen and the theft of his car before fleeing to Syrian territory.
The operation resulted in the death of 8 members of the organization, the injury of two, while 4 others were arrested, in a step that Ankara considered an important security achievement in combating cross-border terrorism.
This operation comes amid increasing security coordination between Damascus and Ankara in files related to combating extremist organizations, amid notable shifts in the regional scene.
