The Istanbul consulate resumes issuing passports.

The Syrian Consulate in Istanbul has resumed receiving requests for passport issuance and renewal. Today, Monday, February 10, the consulate began accepting documents from citizens to initiate the process of issuing and renewing passports, according to news sources.
The sources explained that "applying for a passport is done through the electronic reservation system."
Citizens wishing to obtain a new passport or renew their passports must access the "Electronic Consular Center" via the link (www.ecsc-expat.sy), and create a personal account.
Afterward, they should go to the "My Transactions" section on the main page and select the "Embassy Appointment Booking" service, then complete the required information.
The sources noted that "the account is created once, and it is essential to keep the login information for later use."
It was also mentioned that the appointment booking platform will be available monthly, allowing each person to book only one appointment per month.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had previously announced the resumption of passport issuance for Syrian expatriates through embassies and consulates.
In a previous statement, the ministry explained that "the passport issuance process will be carried out according to the prevailing rotation system at each diplomatic mission."
The validity period of the passport has been initially set at six years, covering all age groups.
