On the occasion of the International Day of the Disappeared, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates emphasized that the issue of the missing will remain a national priority that cannot be overlooked except by achieving justice for the victims and revealing the full truth, which restores dignity to their families and preserves their honor.
An official statement indicated that the establishment of the Syrian National Body for the Missing reflects the serious will of the state to address this sensitive file, and confirms its moral and humanitarian commitment to all those who have been lost or forcibly disappeared over the past years.
The ministry affirmed that this step represents the beginning of an institutional path aimed at documenting cases, following up on the fate of the missing, and providing legal and humanitarian mechanisms that ensure access to the truth, and open the door to justice and accountability.
