Israeli Representative Attacks International Court of Justice Decision and Describes UNRWA as "Supporting Terrorism"

In a strong response, Israel's representative to the United Nations, Danny Danon, described the decision issued by the International Court of Justice regarding UNRWA as "shameful," considering that holding Israel responsible for its lack of cooperation with United Nations institutions is ignoring what he called "the transformation of those institutions into platforms supporting terrorism."

Danon pointed out that UNRWA, according to his claims, has provided support to Hamas over the years, criticizing what he deemed international leniency towards the agency's role in Gaza.

His statements came following the court's confirmation, based in The Hague, that Israel is legally obligated to support the relief efforts carried out by the United Nations, including UNRWA, in the Gaza Strip.

The international judicial decision places Israel before clear obligations in light of the escalating humanitarian crisis, while Tel Aviv continues to criticize the UN institutions amid rising controversy over UNRWA's neutrality and its role in conflict areas.
