The Israeli warplanes launched a series of new airstrikes today, Thursday, on various areas in Lebanon, the most notable of which was the targeting of the town of Shamsar in the Baalbek Governorate east of the Litani River, resulting in columns of smoke rising from the bombing site.
In the south, the National News Agency reported that an Israeli drone fired a guided missile on the road linking the towns of Al-Sharqiya and Kotheriat Al-Sayyad, creating a large gap in the road. Another drone also struck the area of Ali Al-Taher at the northern outskirts of the town of Nabatiyeh Al-Fawqa.
The agency added that Israeli army forces conducted a sweep operation with machine guns on the outskirts of the town of Khiam in the Marjeyoun district, alongside airstrikes targeting areas between the towns of Rumein and Houmine, and others between Sarafand and Al-Baysariyah near Kharbat Dweir.
These developments come amid rising tensions on the Lebanese-Israeli border, where airstrikes and shelling have been recurring almost daily for weeks.
