Israel warns Lebanon: Disarm Hezbollah or direct intervention

An Israeli security source told Sky News Arabia on Friday that Israel is closely monitoring Hezbollah's attempts to restore its military and strategic capabilities, warning that "either the Lebanese state disarms the party, or we will intervene ourselves."
The source added that the Israeli army is monitoring the weapon sites and activities of the party through a coordination committee, and that in cases of immediate threat, attacks may be launched without prior warning. He confirmed that "Hezbollah no longer possesses the same weaponry and leadership capabilities, and has largely lost the ability to organize a coordinated attack."
The source explained that Israel is preparing for a potential war through new operational scenarios, clarifying that every Hezbollah activist will remain a target for Israeli forces in the event of any confrontation, and that attempts to smuggle weapons are less than they were before, with any shipments reaching the party being destroyed.
French newspaper Le Figaro reported that Hezbollah is currently operating almost entirely underground, rebuilding its leadership structure and military capabilities in secrecy, developing a young leadership and distributing responsibilities to ensure confidentiality, reducing external communications, and sending fighters who did not participate in the war to its strongholds in the Bekaa Valley, while maintaining ties within Lebanese security agencies.
European sources told Sky News Arabia that launching an extensive Israeli strike against Lebanon may just be a matter of time, noting that the situation remains unclear as to whether Israel will treat the Lebanese state as a complicit party or a failed entity in controlling Hezbollah.
