Iraq is the Fifth Largest Importer from Turkey
 
Iraq ranked fifth among the countries that imported the most from Turkey with more than one billion dollars in May, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute.

The institute, in a report it reviewed, stated that "Turkish exports for May amounted to 24,817 million dollars, an increase of 2.6%, while imports reached 31,462 million dollars, an increase of 2.7% compared to the same month in 2024".

It added that "Germany is the main export partner with 2,096 million dollars, followed by the United Kingdom with 1,523 million dollars, and the United States with 1,511 million dollars".

The institute continued, stating that "Italy came fourth with 1,221 million dollars, and Iraq came fifth with 1,119 million dollars, with the top five countries accounting for 30.1% of total exports in May 2025".

Iraq imports most goods, merchandise, and foodstuffs from neighboring countries, especially Turkey and Iran, and to a lesser extent from Gulf countries and Jordan.
