The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister stated today, Tuesday, in an interview with the U.S. National Public Radio, that Iran is ready to reach an agreement as soon as possible, emphasizing that Tehran will do what is necessary to ensure the success of the Geneva negotiations "sincerely and in good faith."
He clarified that the subject of the negotiations revolves around the nuclear file, which has been agreed upon by the parties, noting that if there is political will, a quick agreement is possible.
Regarding the escalation, Araqchi questioned: "If the United States attacks us, how can we be expected to remain silent?" He emphasized that his country's preferred approach is one of peace, and that there is no military solution, calling for a focus on diplomacy instead of sending troops.
He stressed that any attack or aggression against Iran will be met with a response according to defensive plans, warning that the outbreak of war in the region may be easy, but ending it will not be, and that the repercussions of any aggression will affect the entire region, adding that attempts at intimidation through troop deployments "will not succeed."
