India Plans to Send a Robot to Space in December Next

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has announced that it plans to send a robot to space in December next.
The organization's chief, K. Sivan, said: "India plans to launch a space mission in December next. As part of this mission, a robot in the form of a human will be sent to space. This step comes as part of India's preparations for the Gaganyaan mission, which will witness the sending of Indian astronauts into orbit."
He added: "The robot that will be sent in December is called Vyommitra, a name composed from the Sanskrit language, where Vyom means space, and mitra means friend. This robot has been designed to be able to go to space aboard a spacecraft, and deal with all the main systems of the spacecraft in zero gravity conditions, starting from life support systems, to flight control systems."
The chief of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) pointed out that if the mission launched in December is successful, India will launch two unmanned spacecraft, followed by a manned space mission in 2027.
