Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz announced on Friday that the army will continue to strike Lebanon if the authorities do not disarm Hezbollah, following a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting the southern suburb of the capital.

In a statement, Katz said: "There will be no calm in Beirut, no regime, and no stability in Lebanon without the security of the state of Israel. Agreements must be respected, and if you do not do what is required, we will continue to act, with great force."

The Israeli army had commented in a statement on the airstrikes carried out on Thursday evening in areas in Lebanon.

The Israeli army said in a statement: "Israeli army forces carried out precise airstrikes using fighter jets on underground sites for producing and storing drones in the southern suburb of Beirut and southern Lebanon."
