American forces arrive in Panama after pressure from Trump.

The US embassy announced on Thursday that American soldiers have arrived in Panama to conduct exercises to protect the canal, following a bilateral agreement that sparked protests in the Central American country.
Panamanian authorities mentioned that the bilateral agreement signed in April allows US forces to deploy around the Panama Canal without establishing military bases.
The US embassy stated in a brief statement to "AFP" that the army "will conduct training with Panamanian security forces in operations carried out in one of the forests."
The embassy clarified that Panama must "approve" the entry of American military personnel to conduct "periodic and non-permanent" maneuvers.
Panama also signed a security agreement under pressure from President Donald Trump, who threatened to seize the canal claiming it was under Chinese influence.
The agreement sparked protests from unions and other local organizations who consider it a violation of national sovereignty and a convincing return to old military bases.
It is worth noting that the US military has participated in several military exercises in Panama in recent years alongside other Latin American countries.
