The Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi, player for Paris Saint-Germain and the national team, stated that the allegations made against him in the rape case represent the hardest experience he has ever gone through, describing it as "the worst thing that has ever happened to him in his life".
Hakimi explained in an interview with Canal Plus: "I have never faced such harm before, it has been difficult for me and still is, because writing lies upon lies hurts me, especially for my family".
He added: "My children are still young, they do not know the internet and cannot read, but one day they will read these things... For me, seeing lies written about their father is extremely painful, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone".
The public prosecutor's office in Nanterre requested in August to refer Hakimi to the regional criminal court in Hauts-de-Seine, following accusations of raping a young woman in 2023, a charge that the Moroccan player firmly denies.
