Greece and Turkey under Severe Heatwave

Greece and Turkey are experiencing a severe heatwave, with temperatures rising to over 30 degrees Celsius in the morning, exceeding 40 degrees Celsius during the day, and not dropping significantly at night.


Authorities in both countries have warned that conditions will worsen, with Thursday and Friday expected to be even hotter.

In Greece, a ban on outdoor work during daylight hours has been implemented to protect workers, including those in construction, agriculture, and delivery services.

Delivery workers driving air-conditioned vehicles are allowed to work only during the day, while motorcycle and bicycle riders are prohibited from working until the end of the heatwave as per the law.
