Google announced during its annual developers' conference (I/O 2025) the launch of a new service aimed at solving the issue of lost luggage in airports, called "FindHub". This service tracks luggage using Bluetooth technology, ensuring travelers do not lose their bags again while traveling. Google is collaborating with major airlines such as "Air Lingus", "British Airways", "Cathay Pacific", "Iberia", and "Singapore Airlines" to integrate this service into their systems, allowing travelers to track their luggage via their mobile phones using Bluetooth technology. This service is set to begin at the start of next year, facilitating the quick and efficient retrieval of lost luggage. Additionally, Google has partnered with companies like "July" and "Mokabara" to integrate "FindHub" into the luggage itself, as well as with "Peak" for tracking ski equipment, and "Pixbee" for Disney cards. Users of devices with Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology, such as "Moto Tag", will have more precise location capabilities, making luggage tracking more effective. Later this year, satellite communication will be added, enabling luggage tracking in remote areas not covered by conventional Bluetooth technologies. With all these new developments, Google aims to significantly expand the scope of the FindHub service, opening up new horizons for Bluetooth tracking technologies, and making these small and efficient devices an important tool to ensure luggage safety while traveling.
