Al-Hajri rejects agreement with Syrian government and confirms continuation of confrontation
Sheikh Hikmat Al-Hajri, the spiritual leader of the Druze Monotheists sect in Syria, issued a statement today, Wednesday, affirming the continuation of confronting what he described as armed gangs.

Al-Hajri emphasized that the ongoing fight to liberate the entire territory of As-Suwayda Governorate is a "national, humanitarian, and ethical duty," calling on the remaining members of these groups to surrender their weapons, pledging not to harm those who surrender, in adherence to ethics and inherited principles.

The statement also emphasized the absence of any agreement, negotiation, or authorization with what he referred to as "armed gangs falsely calling themselves a government," warning that any party engaging in individual communication or negotiation will subject itself to legal and social accountability.

This statement comes hours after an official statement from the Syrian Ministry of Interior announcing a ceasefire in As-Suwayda and another statement from Sheikh Al-Jarbu'a.
