Germany plans to resume the deportation of Syrian refugees in coordination with Damascus starting with those with criminal convictions

Dobrindt explained that the first phase will include the deportation of Syrians who have received criminal convictions, and will later expand to include those who do not have legal residency in Germany, in a move he described as "significant" after the suspension of deportations since 2012.
The minister indicated that Germany distinguishes between integrated and working refugees in society and those who rely entirely on government social assistance, as part of a new policy aimed at resetting the immigration and asylum file.
