New Delhi: Guterres warns of "billionaires' whims" and Macron confirms his intention to regulate artificial intelligence

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned of the dangers of leaving the development of artificial intelligence technologies at the mercy of "billionaires' whims," calling for regulatory frameworks to ensure the responsible use of this rapidly advancing technology.

Guterres made his remarks during a global summit on artificial intelligence held in New Delhi on Thursday, February 19, with the participation of leaders, officials, and experts from various countries around the world.

For his part, French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed his intention to work towards ensuring safe and effective oversight of artificial intelligence technologies, emphasizing the need to strike a balance between innovation and protection, especially given the increasing impact of this technology on the economy and societies.

Macron is expected to conclude his visit to India today as part of efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation in advanced technology and digital governance.
