A teaching supervisor was killed in the city of Nogent (eastern France) following a stabbing incident carried out by a student on Tuesday, as the 31-year-old employee was inspecting students' bags in front of a middle school. The incident occurred while the supervisor was inspecting the middle school students' bags, and she was stabbed multiple times as the students arrived before 8:00 am, according to the prefecture's statement. The 14-year-old student was placed in pre-trial detention after the intervention of the gendarmerie present at the scene. Minister of Education Elizabeth Born expressed her "full support" for the victim's family on the X platform, announcing that she would go to Nogent to "support all education and security workers." Prime Minister François Bayrou stated, "The danger of knives among our children has become critical," and "we must make this widespread scourge a common enemy."
