France and Saudi Arabia are planning to lead a conference to work on implementing concrete measures enabling the establishment of a Palestinian state. According to French channel "France Info," a diplomatic source familiar with the preparations stated that the measures to be announced at the United Nations General Assembly headquarters are irreversible. Fifteen countries are participating in formulating these measures, which include issues related to Israel and Palestinian security, economic feasibility, and Gaza reconstruction. Tel Aviv warned that recognition of Palestine by Paris and European countries would prompt unilateral actions, as expressed by its Foreign Minister, Gabi Ashkenazi. A week before the United Nations General Assembly convenes, stakeholders from Israeli and Palestinian civil society will meet in Paris. Since French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his intention in April to recognize the Palestinian state, Israeli statements attempting to dissuade him have escalated. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Macron of "realigning with Hamas" on Wednesday after the latter criticized Israel's restrictions on humanitarian aid entering Gaza.
