The Syrian film "Oil Smugglers.. Money Amidst Smoke" by director Omar Al-Bam won the Golden Award at the "DEAUVILLE GREEN AWARDS" festival held in France, after competing with 500 documentaries from around the world. The film depicts the reality of primitive oil refining in northern Syria before the fall of the ousted regime, where the residents of the village of Tarhin in northern Aleppo were forced to use primitive methods to refine oil due to the absence of automated stations. The "Deauville Green Awards" festival is an international film festival dedicated to films addressing environmental issues and sustainable development. Since its establishment in 2012, it has become a prominent platform that honors audiovisual productions committed to environmental and social transformation.
