Egyptian Artist Involved in Armed Robbery and Injuring a Woman

Investigative authorities in Cairo referred a famous Egyptian artist and four other defendants to the criminal court on Tuesday evening, charged with committing an armed robbery and causing severe injuries to a woman.
The investigations in case number 6553 for the year 2025, registered under number 1434 for the year 2025 in Central Cairo, revealed that the famous artist and her accomplices planned to target the victim, Mai Hossam Taha, to seize her belongings.
Investigations confirmed that the defendants lured the victim and used violence and coercion to take her possessions, while the driver of the vehicle they were in intentionally ran her over, resulting in severe injuries as documented in the medical report.
In an attempt to cover up their crime, the defendants claimed that a collision had occurred, but investigations by security agencies and witness statements revealed the full truth, leading to their referral to the criminal court.
The well-known artist, who is currently airing a series as part of the Ramadan drama marathon, has a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 26.
This incident has sparked widespread controversy in the artistic and media circles in Egypt, with public opinion eagerly awaiting the outcome of the trial of one of the most prominent stars of Egyptian drama.
