The Egyptian star Ahmed Helmy is preparing to return to the big screen with his new film titled "Hadouta", after a four-year absence since his last film "Wahid Tani" in 2022, in a move that strongly re-establishes Helmy in the cinematic competition.
Sources from the production team confirmed that the film has entered the actual production phase, with filming expected to start immediately after the Eid al-Fitr holiday, and it is anticipated to be released during the Eid al-Adha cinematic season. It is worth noting that Ahmed Helmy's films are often characterized by their quick production, sometimes not exceeding a month of filming.
Helmy had planned to begin filming during Ramadan, but time constraints and delays in completing preparations and discussions about the script prevented that, as the artist was keen on choosing a distinctive script that reflects his strong presence in cinema.
The film maintains the style that the audience is accustomed to from Helmy's works, blending comedy with human and social situations. Its events revolve around a young man who grew up in the care of another family after the death of his parents, opening the door to a series of comedic and human situations related to his life and upbringing.
Alongside Helmy, the cast includes Majid Al-Masry, Rahma Ahmed, and Mohamed Abdel Azim, while the script was written by Ahmed Abdel Rahman and directed by Mazen Ashraf.
Helmy also has another cinematic project titled "Ad'afa Khalqah" with Tunisian actress Hend Sabri, but it has been temporarily postponed due to her commitment to filming the series "Manaa", which aired during the first half of the current Ramadan drama season.
