The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the elevation of the maximum readiness level to monitor the situation of Egyptian citizens in the Gulf countries, Jordan, and Iraq, with the aim of evacuating those stranded due to the security conditions in the region. A statement from the ministry clarified that Minister Badr Abdel Aty is directly overseeing the evacuation operations through the consular sector and Egypt's ambassadors in the region.
Continuous Coordination with Diplomatic Missions and Airlines
The ministry emphasized activating the continuous shift system in diplomatic and consular missions to receive inquiries from citizens and provide immediate consular support, in addition to hotlines to handle emergency cases, including injuries or crises resulting from the current conditions. Officials have also made intensive communications with airlines to facilitate the return of Egyptians residing or transiting back to their homeland.
Appreciation for Support from Brotherly Countries
In conclusion, Cairo expressed its appreciation for the cooperation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in facilitating the evacuation efforts for Egyptian citizens, praising the spirit of close cooperation among brotherly countries in facing regional crises.
