Egypt: Arrest of TikToker Nourhan Hafzi after receiving reports of "publishing content contrary to values

Egyptian security forces arrested one of the most famous social media stars, Nourhan Hafzi, according to security sources on Wednesday evening.
The arrest came as part of what the sources described as a "widespread campaign" launched by the authorities to pursue bloggers and social media celebrities "who violate the law".
The sources mentioned that the reason for the arrest of Hafzi, who is considered a TikTok celebrity, is the receipt of "multiple reports" against her by the relevant authorities.
The sources revealed the nature of these reports, indicating that they include "accusations of publishing videos containing indecent scenes and offensive language that contradict the values and traditions of the Egyptian family".
Nourhan Hafzi is known for her significant activity on the platform, where she "conducts live broadcasts and participates in gaming rounds daily". Her fame increased after appearing with several other celebrities, most notably "Shakir Mahzour" and "Mudahim".
It is noteworthy that these developments come after a period of escalating controversy surrounding her, as Hafzi had previously responded to calls for her arrest at the beginning of the security campaign. At that time, Hafzi urged her followers "not to file reports against her", justifying her request by stating that "she has two children who cannot live without her".
