Diverse International Reactions to the Resumption of Sanctions Against Iran.. Russia and China Support Tehran and Germany

International tensions regarding the Iranian nuclear file have escalated after Britain, France, and Germany, the "European Troika," launched a 30-day process to reimpose United Nations sanctions on Iran.

In response to this step, which comes after two months of Israeli and U.S. strikes on Iran, Russia quickly condemned the decision. The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized in a statement today, Friday, the "necessity of resuming constructive dialogue and finding solutions regarding the Iranian nuclear program," confirming that it is a "matter of utmost priority," according to TASS.

The Russian statement warned of the consequences of escalation, asserting that "this will have dire consequences for global security." Moscow called on the "European Troika" to retract its decisions "before they lead to a new tragedy."

For its part, China joined Russia's stance, criticizing the resumption of sanctions on Iran, stating that it "undermines political and diplomatic solutions."

In a related context, Germany took precautionary measures in anticipation of any Iranian reaction, urging its citizens to "leave Iran and not travel there to avoid exposure to any retaliatory actions due to its role in activating the mechanism to reimpose United Nations sanctions."

The German Foreign Ministry stated in a statement published on its website yesterday evening, Thursday: "Representatives of the Iranian government have repeatedly threatened that this issue will have consequences.. Germany's interests and its citizens cannot be excluded from being affected by countermeasures in Iran."

The ministry also warned that "the German embassy in Tehran can currently only provide limited consular assistance on-site."

In light of this escalation, the European Commission confirmed that Tehran has 30 days to reach a diplomatic solution with European countries regarding its nuclear program.
