Deir ez-Zor Governor: There is no future for a divided governorate and 88% of its population lives below the poverty line

The governor revealed that about 88% of the residents of Deir ez-Zor live below the poverty line, amid a severe economic deterioration and a lack of basic services, noting that thousands of displaced people who returned to their homes in recent months found their houses destroyed beyond bearing, while many are still unable to return due to the absence of shelter.
These statements come at a time when the governorate is witnessing political and field movements aimed at restoring stability and unifying local administration, amid international calls to accelerate reconstruction efforts and ensure the safe return of the displaced.
