Israeli Incursion in the Countryside of Quneitra and Establishment of a Military Checkpoint in Western Samdaniya

Sources informed Al Jazeera channel on Monday evening that an Israeli military patrol conducted a limited incursion into the village of Western Samdaniya located in the countryside of Quneitra in southern Syria, in a move considered a new field escalation on the occupied Syrian border.

According to the sources, the patrol established a temporary checkpoint inside the village and began searching pedestrians and vehicles, amid a state of tension and anxiety among the residents, with no official comment from the Syrian side so far.

This development comes amid ongoing repeated Israeli assaults on Syrian territory, especially in the southern regions, raising questions about the future of the ceasefire recently mentioned by the Syrian president, and the possibility of negotiations progressing amid these violations.
