Damascus Governorate categorically denied on Friday the circulating rumors about issuing instructions by the Old Damascus Directorate requiring tourist facilities to close at night or have security interventions in closure campaigns.
The governorate confirmed that the recent measures were part of regular inspection tours to ensure compliance with regulations and laws, which included closing a number of tourist and commercial facilities due to operating without proper licensing and violating the conditions of granted licenses.
The governorate also emphasized that all procedures are in accordance with legal principles and under the supervision of relevant authorities only.
