The General Authority of Land and Maritime Ports signed on Friday a strategic memorandum of understanding with the global company "CMA CGM", a leader in maritime transport and logistics services, to establish and operate dry ports in both the Jordanian-Syrian Free Zone and the Free Zone in Adra, Damascus countryside. This step comes within the Authority's vision to develop logistical infrastructure, enhance the role of free zones as pivotal centers for regional trade by connecting them to international maritime and land transport networks, and achieving effective integration between ports and dry ports to accelerate cargo movement and reduce costs. Under the agreement, "CMA CGM" will manage and operate the dry ports according to the best international standards, providing integrated services including customs clearance, storage, and multimodal transport, positively impacting the investment environment in Syria and the region.
