A complete secrecy surrounds the removal of the east wing of the White House in preparation for Trump's project to build a luxurious ballroom

CNN reported that the removal of the east wing of the White House is taking place amidst unprecedented secrecy, as part of a project led by former U.S. President Donald Trump to build a new ballroom in its place.
The channel mentioned that the workers involved in the project signed strict confidentiality agreements that prevent them from making any statements or sharing details about the nature of the ongoing work, noting that journalists on site observed the workers' refusal to respond to any inquiries, as they informed them that all comments must come exclusively from the White House press office.
The network added that some workers confirmed signing non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), which raised questions about the nature of the project and its level of secrecy within the U.S. presidential residence.
In an official comment, a representative from the White House explained to CNN that this practice is "common in such projects," given that workers are close to sensitive offices that house senior government officials, requiring additional security measures to protect information.
According to historical records, the construction of the east wing dates back to 1902, and it has undergone repeated renovations and updates since then. This wing has traditionally been the residence of the First Lady of the United States and her team, while the president's offices and advisors are managed from the west wing.
It is noted that Trump, who has extensive experience in real estate development and construction through his various projects—from golf clubs to hotel towers—has repeatedly expressed his belief that the White House lacks sufficient space to host major events, which he justified, according to his vision, with his new project to build a luxurious ballroom suitable for official and presidential occasions.
