In an unforgettable football night, Bayern Munich took a step towards the quarter-finals of the Champions League after crushing their Italian hosts Atalanta with a score of 6-1, in the first leg of the Round of 16 held at the Bergamo team's stadium yesterday, Tuesday.

Bayern started the goal festival early when German player Josip Stanisic opened the scoring in the 12th minute, before Frenchman Michael Olise added the second goal in the 22nd minute.

Just three minutes later, Serge Gnabry scored the third goal to end the first half with a crushing lead.

In the second half, the German giant continued its victory, as Senegalese Nicolas Jackson scored the fourth goal in the 52nd minute, then Olise returned to sign his second personal goal and Bayern's fifth in the 64th minute.

Three minutes later, young substitute Jamal Musiala completed the goal festival with a brilliant sixth goal, giving the German team a significant advantage before the return match.

In stoppage time, Croatian Mario Pasalic reduced the gap with Atalanta's only goal, but it was not enough to threaten Bayern's dominance.

With this result, Bayern Munich moves a big step closer to qualifying for the quarter-finals, while Atalanta faces an almost impossible task in the return match at home.
