The health authorities in Gaza announced the killing of 16 Palestinians by Israeli army fire in the sector today, Friday, while a US and Israeli-backed organization said it distributed aid in Gaza after earlier stating that distribution sites were closed.

The Israeli army has not yet commented on reports of casualties in the war-torn Gaza Strip. Health authorities said the airstrikes killed people in Jabalia, Beit Hanoun, and Khan Younis in Gaza.

Reuters quoted witnesses and paramedics as saying that Israeli planes and tanks intensified their raids on Jabalia and the neighboring Beit Hanoun from the early hours of Friday morning.

Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee posted on "X" platform that the Israeli army issued orders for residents of some residential areas in northern Gaza to evacuate on Friday.

According to Reuters, the US-backed Gaza humanitarian organization said it delivered aid today despite earlier announcing on its official Facebook page that its distribution sites were closed until further notice and that people should stay away from the sites "for their safety" after a series of shootings that resulted in casualties.
