Bezhkian: Our membership in international blocs gives us alternatives in the face of sanctions

Iranian President Masoud Bezhkian confirmed that his country is capable of overcoming the repercussions of any potential international sanctions, thanks to its membership in major regional and international organizations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the BRICS group, and the Eurasian Economic Union.
Bezhkian stated, according to the official website of the Presidency: "The return of sanctions is not the end of the road, and we will not surrender... We will find a way out of any difficult situation, especially since Iran today has, in addition to a wide network of bilateral relations with its neighbors, significant capabilities on the international stage through its membership in these important blocs."
The Iranian president's remarks come amid rising tensions between Tehran and the "European Troika" (Britain, Germany, France) regarding the nuclear file, after they hinted at activating the "snapback" mechanism to reimpose sanctions. The Iranian Foreign Ministry had described the American and European efforts in this regard as "inappropriate," pointing to the pressures Tehran faced during previous negotiations.
Earlier this week, Bezhkian reiterated his country's position against possessing nuclear weapons before the United Nations General Assembly, emphasizing that the European Troika's decision to seek to restore international sanctions is "illegal," warning that such steps could harm the course of international understandings.
