Bruce Willis' wife talks about the "hardest decision" after his health deteriorated due to a rare dementia

Emma Heming Willis, the wife of Hollywood star Bruce Willis, revealed that she made the "hardest decision" regarding living arrangements due to the progression of his health condition affected by frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
Willis (70 years old) first announced his diagnosis of this rare disease in February 2023. According to the British newspaper "Independent" citing experts and doctors, this disease affects behavior and language and worsens over time.
Due to the degenerative nature of the disease, Heming (47 years old) explained that her husband wished for their two young daughters' lives not to be affected by the adjustments that needed to be made to the home for his care. She told the American channel "ABC": "Willis wanted his daughters to be in a home designed specifically to meet their needs, not his needs".
She added that the star, known for his role in the "Die Hard" series, now lives in a single-story home with a dedicated care team, while she and their daughters Mabel (13 years old) and Evelyn (11 years old) reside in the family home. The couple married in 2009.
Heming described this decision as the "hardest decision", as she tries to maintain family continuity by taking her daughters for breakfast and dinner with their father, and she also "visits Willis often".
She explained the nature of their visits, saying: "When we go there, we either hang out outside or watch a movie. It's just about being there and connecting with Bruce".
Regarding her husband's health condition, Emma said: "Bruce still has a lot of energy. He is generally in excellent health. But his brain is what is weakening him". She highlighted that his language abilities are "fading", but the family has "learned to adapt" to his current situation.
