Britain Arrests Three Men on Suspicion of Collaborating with Foreign Intelligence Amid Russian Allegations

The British police announced today, Thursday, the arrest of three men aged between 44 and 48, on suspicion of being involved in collaboration with a foreign intelligence agency, amid indications that these activities may be linked to Russia.

The arrests took place in apartments located in West and Central London, where the sites are currently being searched by the counter-terrorism police, who are leading the investigation into the case.

London's counter-terrorism chief, Dominic Murphy, stated that "an increasing number of what we describe as 'proxy agents' are being recruited by foreign intelligence agencies, and these arrests come as part of our ongoing efforts to thwart this kind of activity."

The arrests were made under the National Security Act of 2023, which allows the public prosecution to file espionage charges based on extensive circumstances related to national security.

This development coincided with the sentencing of six men involved in an attack that caused fires at companies linked to Ukraine in East London last year, where prosecutors indicated that the attack was carried out on orders from the Russian private military group 'Wagner.'

For its part, the Kremlin denied any connection to these actions, considering that Britain "always blames Russia for everything bad that happens within its territory."
