Brazilian legend Lucio is in the hospital after being involved in a serious house fire.

Lucio, the Brazilian defensive legend and former national team captain, received treatment at a hospital after suffering burns in a horrific domestic accident, as reported by local media. Despite the exact severity of the injuries not being disclosed yet, an official statement from the hospital confirmed that the former player, aged 47, is conscious and stable, receiving care from a multidisciplinary medical team specialized in burn treatment. Lucio is known as one of the prominent figures in Brazilian football history, renowned for his crucial role in leading the national team's defense to victory in the 2002 World Cup. He also played a pivotal role in Inter Milan's historic treble-winning squad in 2010 under the guidance of coach Jose Mourinho. Throughout his football career, Lucio played for major clubs such as Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, and Juventus, before returning to Brazil where he represented Sao Paulo, Palmeiras, and others. Over his 22-year career, he won a total of 17 domestic and international titles, including the UEFA Champions League, Serie A, FIFA Club World Cup, Copa America twice, and Bundesliga three times, in addition to participating in 105 international matches for his country, scoring four goals.
