The city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza witnessed violent clashes on Friday, October 3, 2025, between members of Hamas and the Al-Majayda family, resulting in dozens of casualties, following a wide Israeli attack targeting fighters from the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.
According to sources, the clashes erupted immediately after the Israeli airstrike, which led to the deaths of more than 10 members of the Al-Qassam Brigades, including the prominent leader in the elite unit "Abu Abdullah Hamdan".
In the chaos that followed the airstrike, an armed confrontation broke out between Hamas and the Al-Majayda family, resulting in the deaths of 7 family members, amid serious accusations directed at Hamas members of carrying out executions of the wounded from the family following the intervention of Israeli forces.
Sources indicated that the clash lasted for about an hour and a half, involving more than 50 members of the Al-Qassam Brigades, in one of the bloodiest confrontations between Hamas and local militants in years.
Later on Friday evening, families in Khan Younis issued an angry statement expressing their full solidarity with the Al-Majayda family, holding Hamas "fully responsible" for what they described as "crimes committed against families".
These developments come at a very sensitive time, amid escalating Israeli airstrikes and increasing internal tensions in the sector, alongside repeated calls from human rights and international organizations to halt the cycle of violence and address its political and social roots.
