In a sudden medical development, the office of former U.S. President Joe Biden announced last night, Sunday, that he has been diagnosed with an advanced form of prostate cancer, confirming that the disease has spread to the bones. The statement issued by the office stated that the diagnosis was confirmed last Friday, following Biden's struggles with urinary tract problems. It added that Biden and his family are currently consulting with doctors to explore available treatment options. Despite the advanced stage of the condition, the statement clarified that the cancer is still hormone-sensitive, giving doctors an opportunity to effectively treat it. In a humane response, President Donald Trump expressed his solidarity with Biden, stating on his platform "Truth Social": "Melania and I are saddened to hear the recent medical diagnosis of Joe Biden. We extend our warmest wishes to Jill and the family, and wish Joe a speedy and successful recovery." Former Vice President Kamala Harris, in a post on the platform "X" (formerly Twitter), said: "Joe is a fighter. I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always distinguished his life and leadership. We are optimistic about a full and speedy recovery." It is worth noting that Biden, who served as U.S. President from 2021 to 2025, withdrew from the presidential race in July last year after what was described as a "stumbling" performance in his debate against Trump. Kamala Harris then entered the race for the Democratic Party, but lost the elections in November to Trump.
