Syrian Minister of Education, Dr. Mohammad Abdul Rahman Tarakou, met today, Wednesday, with the Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization "ISESCO," Dr. Salem bin Mohammed Al-Malik, to enhance mutual cooperation and support Syria's historical and pioneering role in the educational and cultural fields at the Islamic world level. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the "World Education Forum EWF 2025" held in the British capital, London. The two sides discussed mechanisms for ISESCO's contribution to the reconstruction of the Syrian education sector, strengthening the national recovery path, and restoring the educational system's pivotal role in building the Syrian individual. This is the first Syrian meeting with ISESCO after the organization announced Syria's full return to its membership on the twelfth of last March after years of hiatus, a pivotal step reflecting Syria's return to the international scene and a promising start to a strategic partnership paving the way for a better educational future. It is worth mentioning that ISESCO is an international organization operating under the umbrella of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, aiming to enhance cooperation among member states in the fields of education, science, and culture.
