China threatens to respond "firmly" to the new US restrictions on electronic chip imports.

China has expressed its firm rejection of the new restrictions imposed by the United States on imports of advanced electronic chips, describing the American action as "a model of unilateralism" and "undermining the stability of global supply chains." China vowed to "respond firmly" to what it described as "intimidation and protectionism" from Washington.
This statement was issued by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, where the official spokesperson stated: "The American measures combine intimidation and protectionism, dangerously undermining the stability of global semiconductor industry and supply chains," confirming that Beijing will take "resolute measures" in response to this step.
The US administration recently replaced strict restrictions on exporting advanced semiconductors to China with advisory recommendations, urging "caution about the potential consequences of allowing the use of American chips in developing Chinese artificial intelligence models."
Washington justified its policy by the desire to share artificial intelligence technology with "trusted foreign countries," while preventing it from reaching "the hands of adversaries."
However, Beijing considered this step an extension of the policy of "misusing export controls to contain and suppress China," according to the Chinese Ministry's statement, and warned that "any organization or individual implementing or assisting in the implementation of these American measures may be in violation of Chinese laws."
