Awaiting Approval from the Supreme Council.. Strait of Hormuz Possibly Closing

Reports from Iran have conflicted regarding the seriousness of the political decision in the country to close the commercial Strait of Hormuz in the past few hours. Iranian television reported that the Iranian parliament has agreed to close the Strait of Hormuz, but the matter has not been finalized yet, awaiting approval from the Iranian Supreme National Security Council.


Iran's official Press TV channel stated on Sunday that the decision to close the vital Strait of Hormuz is still subject to approval from the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, at a time when regional tensions are escalating following the U.S. strike targeting Iranian nuclear facilities.
