Accident: 3 Fans Die in a Fall in Algeria

The death toll from the accident of several fans of the MC Alger team falling from the stands of the 5 July Stadium in the Algerian capital has risen to three deaths and 81 injuries, most of whom have left hospitals.
The Algerian Ministry of Health stated that the Civil Protection counted, on Saturday evening, one death and 11 injured.
A statement from the Ministry of Health added, "Beni Messous University Hospital received 38 injured, while three deaths were recorded. Ben Aknoun Hospital received 27 injured, and Bab El Oued Hospital received 16 injured."
The incident marred the celebrations of the MC Alger team for winning the local league title for the second consecutive year and the ninth in its history.
Al-Khabar newspaper reported that the crowd's rush caused the collapse of the iron fence and the fall of several MC Alger fans from the upper stands 7 and 8 downwards, resulting in several injuries that required the intervention of the Civil Protection services to transport the wounded to the hospital.
The 5 July Stadium was packed to capacity to attend this decisive match against the NA Hussein Dey team in the thirtieth and final round of the league, which ended in a goalless draw.
The draw was enough for MC Alger to retain the title after its competitor, JS Kabylie, also fell into a goalless draw against its host Olympique de Médéa.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, the Algerian Football Federation decided to cancel the league cup presentation ceremony.
