Mumbai police announced the arrest of a man and a woman in two separate incidents, after attempting to break into the residence of the famous star Salman Khan in the upscale Bandra neighborhood.
It all started on Tuesday when the police noticed a man named Jeetendra Kumar Singh (23 years old) acting suspiciously near Salman Khan's house. When a security guard tried to stop him, Singh angrily smashed his mobile phone before taking advantage of a resident's car entering the building to sneak in behind it, but he was quickly apprehended and taken back to the police station.
In another incident early Wednesday, a woman named Eesha Chhabra (32 years old) tried to reach Salman Khan's apartment using the building's elevator, but the police stopped her before she could reach it and arrested her on the spot.
According to the police, cases of unauthorized trespassing on others' property have been filed against the suspects.
These events come amidst a series of security threats faced by Salman Khan in recent years, including a shooting incident in April 2023 near his apartment, carried out by gunmen believed to be affiliated with the Bishnoi gang, who had placed Khan among their top 10 targets due to the 1998 blackbuck hunting incident, which the gang considered an insult to their community.
Since then, security measures have been enhanced for him and modifications made to his residence.
Salman Khan, born on December 27, 1965, in Indore, is one of the most famous and prominent Indian cinema stars, with a career spanning over three decades, having a significant impact within Bollywood and beyond.
